Q: What are ’solar storms’ and if I have a solar panels installed on my roof, should I be concerned about them?

A: Mary, Solar Storms are electro magnetic waves of energy released by the sun. These storms usually affect radio and tv signals, sometimes they can cause power outages. However these storms do not effect solar panels. I would not be concerned and I have had solar panels on my house for over 32 years.

Do Solar Panels Break Easily?

Solar panels are usually designed to take a direct impact from a 1” hail stone traveling 50 mph. As a general rule we see very little damage to solar panels once they have been installed on a roof.
